Fort Bend ISD (April 25, 2025) – Fort Bend ISD recorded over 171,000 volunteer hours contributed by parents, community members and local partners during the 2024-25 school year, representing a financial value of approximately $5.47 million to the district.
“Right now, more than ever, volunteers are needed across our campuses to help bridge gaps in resources, provide essential support for students, and provide input to district administration on important topics,” FBISD’s Executive Director of Collaborative Communities Payal Pandit said.
Volunteering in Fort Bend ISD takes many forms — whether it’s mentoring a student, supporting teachers in the classroom, assembling food bags for families, serving on district committees, judging science fairs, or participating in career fairs.
Many school systems and nonprofit organizations underscore the monetary worth of volunteer contributions by calculating national estimates based on the average hourly earnings of private sector workers.
